TRINOVANTIES & ATREBATES ? |
The first type has an inverted leaf below horse which is characterisitic of Icenian coinage though the style and fabric suggests Trinovantian but was found south of the Thames. Apparently unpublished, the second appears to be a prototype to the Dobunnic series but the reverse has characteristics of the Atrebatic "zoo" series. Found at Chichester. |
SOLD for £985 the pair. |
