UNUSUAL MARCUS AURELIUS

Ori. Sest., 166. TR.POT.X(I)X IMP.III.COS.III. Providentia stg. l. globe at feet, hldg. wand & sceptre. Like RIC923 but 'I' in 'XIX' obliterated, i.e. altered from XIX, RIC 905 to XX, RIC923. Probably due to the fact that the 'XIX' iss. was a small one, and the re-use of the die made economical sense

Lightly toned brass flan in GVF/VF. Rare & interesting re-use of earlier die.
