Unlisted VICTORINUS x 2

AE Ant + Cont. Forg., c268-70, c18-20mm each, c2.2 - 2.8g.

IMP C VICTORINVS P F AVG - Busts r., rad. & dr./PAX AVG - Pax stg. l., hldg. olive-branch & sceptre.

Cologne mint

Official coin like RIC118, the cont. forg. not listed.

The Victorinus illustrated on the right is a Roman Contemporary forgery. The one on the left is an official Roman coin from the Cologne mint which has an unpublished branch to the lower right of Pax. You can see that the one on the right (contemporary forgery) is copying the official coin right down to the branch.

The RIC listing is the closest coin in the catalogue but doesn't list the branch in the bottom right hand corner. The coin is from the Cologne mint because of the style and RIC 118 is the nearest one I can find. The other one is a direct copy of the official coin at the time (contemporary forgery) and is therefore not listed.
