"Roman Newspapers!!"

Reverses - on Roman Imperial Coins

Pick a moving picture and select one of several topics, such as Personifications, Military Conquest or Symbolic for example.

The aim of this undertaking is not to cover the entire area as this would take a life-time of study and work to achieve, but rather to give an insight into this vast area of numismatics. Historically they acted rather like our modern day newspapers, when something important took place - e.g. Vows, Wars, Designations to be Emperor - this was publicized on the coins.

I am hoping that everyone will find something of interest and that if there are any errors or additional information that you wish to add that you will advise me. I will even publish your work which will be fully acknowledged.
